Hello, world!
I'm a history major at a small state college and within the next year I will begin the crazy journey of applying to graduate school for Egyptology. I never thought of myself as the sort of person who would keep a personal blog, let alone an academic blog, but... surprise!
I suppose I can blame my secret archnemesis. She's my secret archnemesis because she is not aware that she is my archnemesis. It's petty -- I saw she had a blog and decided I should have a better one. I arbitrarily declared her my archnemesis a few semesters back when we were in several classes together and she was a snot. That's really about it. I'm melodramatic. As far as archnemeses go, I feel I picked well; she's rather dull and will be easy to vanquish. Or, at least, forget about once she graduates.
I just got my GRE prep book in the mail today, which I suppose is a step in the right direction. I'm starting to brush up on my French and will make a solid attempt to get some German reading knowledge over the summer. But summer's not here yet.
